In June 2019 at the NCDP State Executive Committee Convention, founder Janis Covington Allison made history when the NC Democratic Party recognized the nation’s first and only state-level Transgender Caucus. We didn’t just break ground—we claimed our seat at the table!
Today, that fight continues with even greater urgency.
From healthcare to housing, employment to education, our rights are under attack at every level of government. But we’re not standing by. We’re organizing, advocating, and building power alongside our allies to protect transgender and LGBTQ+ North Carolinians.
