The Transgender Caucus purpose and mission is to support equal rights for all transgender North Carolinians and to support and recruit candidates who, through word and deed, have proven their support of our transgender population.  Regarding candidates, we have taken the first steps in a lengthy process to become a viable force during election years that will provide candidate recognition, training, and campaign support by fund raising, phone banking, door knocking, and other means.  This is no small undertaking.  It’s work that needs to be done to better ensure that the candidates who get elected are on our side, ready and committed to ensure our rights and not use us as a political football in legislative sessions and on campaign trails. Our Candidate and Campaign Committee has taken the lead on this very important caucus function, enabling us to advance towards becoming that viable political force needed to protect transgender North Carolinians.

On this page we will provide examples of the work we do in our efforts to represent you.  It is our hope that by doing so you may be inspired to reach out and become a part of this growing organization working within the institutions and with the decision makers that govern our lives and ratify the laws that affect our rights.  Check back for updates.
